Chapter Two: You Want Me To Do What!?

I rushed into the room with the canteen in my hand. "Here, Preston," I said reaching over Zach to hand it to him. He clutched the canteen in his hand and let its leather strap hang down to the floor. It lie there as if it too had been injured. My heart was still racing; I still felt like there was something to be done. Zach suddenly stood up and stepped in front of me facing the door. "What are you doing, Zach?" I asked him grabbing his shoulder. "There's someone coming, I heard them walking around outside." I was speechless at this point. I had been through so much in so little time. Nothing should have surprised me at this point, yet I was at a loss for words. It was only a month ago that I had discovered that I was destine to be here.

It was late at night and I was on the phone with my boyfriend, Zach. All of the sudden, he began to yell at something. When I asked him what was going on, he said that he had to go, something had broken into his house and was chasing him down the hallway. The line cut him off as he said my name, and at that exact moment, there was a loud knock at the door. You could feel the vibrations of the sound bellowing through the house.

"What's going on?" I thought to myself. An alarming roar pulsed through my room at a slow, rolling rhythm. At first, it did nothing but alert me, but as time consumed the room, it began to make its way to my mind. I tried to block it out, but it seemed like there was nothing I could do to fight it.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a dog like figure make its way across my window and inch towards the door. I was at my friend, Jasper's house. She was supposed to be downstairs doing her chores.

I quickly realized that she was finished with them when the door was slammed to peices and a 6 ft tall werewolf creature stood in the frame where the door had once been. A single drop of blood fell from the leg in his mouth before he stepped forward.

Suddenly, I found myself reaching for the window in a desperate attempt to escape. Patience was one virtue that I could not afford to tend to at the moment.
